2nd December.


In Iceland the Bobmas is merry if you survive it alive, and I'm not joking. In other countries children are disappointed by soft parcels but here they're a sign of not being mauled to death by a monster cat, the above video's Urðarkötturinn. It eats alive everyone who did not receive a new item of clothing at Bobmas.


It's not the only worry, though. There are also the Yule Lads, 13 sons of Grýla (who coincidentally also owns the cat) that come into town. All of them have a favourite thing they are looking for so before Bobmas one has to be careful not to accidentally invite them over. Nowadays they're made into harmless Santa characters but reading some older books on them is right nightmare material...
