Eruption!

It's finally happening! Grímsfjall volcano is erupting! I'm beside myself because this is the first time in my life that I've actually been to a country that has a volcanic eruption going on. Tomorrow, if weather permits, we're planning to drive south to see and take photos of the eruption column. The actual place is nearly impossible to approach though, it's underneath Vatnajökull glacier and the mere driving to the edge of the glacier would take 4 hours or more. Then add the time spent somehow crossing the glacier. Hmph. Eyjafjallajökull would have been a lot easier to visit.

(Oh btw, the rapture was supposed to begin with a series of earthquakes and those we've had today aplenty, so I'm still not completely ruling out the end of the world. In case of apocalypse I hold no responsibility over any promises of photographs.)

I guess it's time to refresh old memories then!

  2. Apua! Olen lähdössä viikon päästä matkalle! Onneksi tästä ei kuitenkaan ennustettu yhtä laajaa lentokaaosta kuin vuosi sitten...

  3. Godofpoop: ahahahahahaha OMG cat says OMG...

Hikaruhiiri: ei hätiä, ainakaan näillänäkymin. Toi purkaus on isompi ku viimeks ku Grímsfjall purkautu, tai ainaki nyt näyttää siltä ku tuhka on ekana päivänä tuplasti korkeemmalla ku 2004. Tuuli on kuitenkin pohjoseen mikä tarkottaa ettei toi tuhkapilvi oo tulossa Eurooppaan ollenkaan.
