Birds, sailboats and the like.

Another wa coord that's influenced by Taisho era, done some time ago but I'm lazy with photoediting when I have other stuff to post. -.-; The sailor theme fits it surprisingly well, although I do look a bit like I'm about to head to sjómannadagurinn festival. :D

It's a bit problematic to keep a lolita silhouette when wearing a real obi. On one hand lolita often has a very clear waist (not the case in empire cut dresses, salopettes etc.), whereas a kimono outfit can not have one without looking untidy. The only solution I can think of is to tie the obi high enough, well above where the skirt is to flare out, and I've also found that an A-line skirt works a million times better than a cupcake.

I took the obi off for an example photo of how the outfit would look without it. In a way it still works - reminds me of the way kimono can be worn with hakama.

(I seriously have only one pose. Apologies.)

A musubi shot, although I'm sorry that it's not a very interesting one...

Detail shot of the front.

  1. Ihana kombo!
